Women Who Are Women (WWAW) aims to raise consciousness about the political and material conditions of women and girls, particularly the violation of their sex-based rights.
We hold a very exclusive membership of only women and prohibit female ridiculers and impersonators from joining.
For our male allies, those in true support of the cause of women, we have our men’s auxiliary.
Our work corresponds with the legacy of Andrea Dworkin, whose life and work exemplify a woman for women first. She advised that women “take for ourselves the power of naming” and, in doing so, stop being “invisible to ourselves.”
We seek to educate the public about Dworkin’s writings, connected to the recently founded Andrea Dworkin Archival Project (ADAP). To support this work, both in education and advocacy, we will be fundraising through merchandise that celebrates women and girls.
